Should I have a version of Quickbooks on my own computer, and if so, which one? The test questions I got on the website are very "know how to sell Quickbooks" rather than bookkeeping. Does the entire course take only seven or eight hours to go through? I went through the personalized path which it didn't record and there is a lot more in the training. Do I have to register for my courses to be seen?

Hi! I have done bookkeeping for other companies for many years. I’ve also trained small businesses to use QuickBooks. Now I’ve decided that I just want to do the bookkeeping myself, bc I love the work, but I want to do it freelance so I can work around my family’s schedule. Hello, for the first week's tasks, are you reconciling and generating reports for the previous month? Is a typical workflow working on the previous month or the current month at the month end? Also, wouldn't payroll be run twice a month so weeks 2 and 4? Thank you!

How on earth does categorizing take 1 hour a month? I work for a company only doing AP and it takes my full 40 hour work week to get it all done, and that's with help from my supervisor

How can I learn your bookkeeping classes from you?

I paid for my LLC "Articles of Organization" with my personal checking account. Instead of having my business pay me back now since I have a business Checking account, how would I categorize that transaction in order for the business to keep ahold of that information for me until it's profitable enough for me to want to draw it back as an expense to the business payable to my personal checking?

I got my larger bookkeeping client through a staffing service looking for a part-time bookkeeper. I would scour all of the part-time bookkeeping jobs to see if they would accept a contract bookkeeper instead. This larger client became my biggest source of income for 7 years. They agreed after I was paid off through the staffing company to hire me as a 1099 contractor. A CPA also gave me their more troublesome clients to help me get started. Don't run out of clients! Always keep more coming in!

I just passed my QBO ProAdvisor exam, after taking the Fast & Easy course. I don't feel qualified to go out and start procuring business, and I'm conflicted about the next step in my education. My QB experience is on Desktop 8 years ago. I don't think I can pass the Advanced test without some better prep than the Intuit site. Their material is not user-friendly. If you could only pick one or the other (Launch or Fast & Easy Advanced, maybe w/Payroll), which would you do?

Thanks for the video Morgan! I wanted to share that Cone offers a Proposal and Billing Software that's really straightforward which could be helpful to others. It lets you set prices based on multiple factors such as the number of transactions and the frequency of reconciliation etc. It does have bookkeeping templates and is quite affordable at $8 per month.

Why an LLC over a sole proprietorship? LLCs can get kinda expensive in some states, what potential financial liabilities could you really incur as a bookkeeper?

Very good video Morgan. I believe that work clothes that double as protective gear can be deducted from the business taxes. I.E. steel toe work boots, demin overalls, hard hats. And in a round about way, we should treat our selection of clients as if we're vetting a personal relationship partner?
